Social tennis sessions are a good time to come down and meet other members. Adults considering joining the club may come to one social session to get a feel for the club and see if it's one they'd like to join.
Social tennis is doubles play with players mixing around between games.
In the peak summer months our resident coaches are on hand to help mix up players and give tips if you want them. We will be trying out some new formats over the coming months so come on down and join in!
Adult social tennis sessions:
Wednesdays 6.30-10pm (all courts)
Saturdays 2-5pm (2 courts)
Sundays 2-6pm (all courts)
Junior social tennis is held on Friday evenings (term time only) from 6-7.30pm. Please contact our Head Coach, Julia Searle, for more information on these sessions.
Wigmore has a fully stocked bar serving teas, coffee and alcoholic/soft drinks and an assortment of snacks. Tennis related items such as overgrips and tennis balls are also available behind the bar at very reasonable prices. The bar is open most nights of the week from 7.30 pm and from early afternoon at the weekends.
The clubhouse caters for everyone with comfortable sofas for you to relax and enjoy a drink whilst chatting with your fellow members, watch tv or if you want some quiet time, just read a book.
If you still have some energy left after tennis or while you are waiting to go on, we also have a new indoor/outdoor table tennis set which is proving to be a huge hit with everyone so feel free to have a game.
Wi-fi internet access is available in the clubhouse for members to use, see the noticeboard for password details.
If you have a special event coming up, members can hire the clubhouse out for the afternoon/evening and make use of the staffed bar.
For further details regarding prices and terms and conditions of hire, please contact Amina Kadem or Louise McKerchar who will gladly provide you with the relevant information.
On Wednesday evenings during the year we aim to put on suppers or barbeques too, but this is dependent upon our members volunteering to cook!
If this is something you would like to do, then again, please contact Amina or Louise for more information.
